Infrared Moisture Surveys

The latest state of the art inspection devices used to detect wet insulation under the roof system without compromising the roof membrane.

Wet insulation stores heat just like a pool in the summer sun. As night falls and the ambient temperature drops the water retains its warmth much longer than the surrounding air. With an extremely sensitive infrared camera we can pinpoint areas of wet insulation. In the picture above the bright red show areas of higher temperature. The blue and green are cooler. The bright blue lines denote where we have just marked a wet spot with paint. Oh and the bright white vertical lines…one of our technicians legs!

Nuclear Moisture Surveys

Tuscano-Maher Roofing Inc.’s nuclear moisture gauge actually measures the average number of hydrogen atoms present beneath the roof membrane. Remember that hydrogen is the primary component of water…which is a roof’s arch enemy. Find that tricky leak or outline areas of wet insulation for pinpoint removal.
