| The ballasted rubber roofing was removed to expose the
existing insulation. The insulation was left in place to save the
owner both disposal and replacement costs. A layer of rosin paper
was loose laid to protect the urethane insulation before ½”
perlite insulation was mechanically attached to the metal deck. Four
plies WP Hickman’s Premium Ply felts were installed hot asphalt
before a flood coat of modified coal tar pitch was applied and gravel
embedded in the hot bitumen. The existing metal coping was also reused.
New aluminum counter flashing was incorporated into the main flashing
design to provide waterproof protection. |
